- Plan and prepare workplace
- Activities are carried out according to OHS and organisation requirements
- Work instructions, including relevant inspection reports and forms and quality requirements are obtained, confirmed with appropriate personnel and applied
- Tools and equipment selected to carry out tasks are consistent with the requirements of the job, checked for serviceability and any faults are rectified or reported prior to commencement
- Materials appropriate to the work application are identified, obtained, prepared, safely handled and located ready for use
- Working environment considerations are identified and measures to reduce noise, dust and obstacles are applied
- Assess damages/defects
- Produce specialised repair instruments
- Repair damage/defect
- Specialist instruments and general body repair tools are applied to rectify identified damage or defects
- Damage or defective area is repaired to specifications
- Documentation is completed outlining nature of problem, work conducted and outcome, in accordance with organisation requirements
- Repaired vehicle/parts are processed for inspection and returned to the production sequence
